| Moanikeala.com began in the year 2000 as a tribute and information source for Halau 'O Moanike'ala. I lovingly
maintained the site for the Halau until it ceased operation in 2002. Since that time I have tried to keep the memories
of the Halau alive through photos of the past. I have been trying to think of what to do with the site for over
a year. It came up for renewal in 2004 and I made the decision to keep the domain name and went ahead and renewed
it. During a visit to O'ahu, Hawai'i in the summer of 2004, I again got to meet up with our former Kumu Ipolani and her wonderful and quite beautiful daughter Fiafia. After taking some photos on a beach and during a luau of the both of them along with Fia's Daddy Tama, I decided on what to do with this website. Fia's actual name is Moanike'ala Fiafia, so I have given the website to her so that we may enjoy her youth and her growing up years. Fia was born June 2nd of 1997. That was the year I met her Mom. In fact, the first time I laid eyes on Ipo was during a Makaha Sons concert in May of that year and she was VERY much with child. So, I have known Fia all of her life and have more then 1000 photos of her over the years. I still have a link to the Halau site on the home page if anyone wishes to see the photos from the past. Over a period of time, I will be adding more and more photos of Fia from over the years starting with the most recent. Please join me in celebrating the childhood of Moanike'ala Fiafia and watch her grow into a wonderful and beautiful young lady. I will try very hard to keep new material coming from time to time. |
